Wind pushing against the flap must fight all magnets at once — requiring tremendous force to break the seal.
Your dog's nose pushes against only one magnet pair at a time, sequentially separating them as they move through.
14-gauge aluminum with rails 75% thicker than most competitors — the strongest patio pet door frame made.
Patio models feature certified Low-E tempered glass for the best energy efficiency available.

What Makes Dura Flex Different?
Conventional pet doors use just a few center magnets that do a poor job sealing against drafts, or a continuous magnet strip that's hard for dogs to push open. DuraFlex solves both problems with a proprietary point-magnet system.
The seal: Strong rare-earth disk magnets are spaced along the entire periphery of the flap behind a soft neoprene ribbon seal. The mating frame magnets sit on floating seals behind industrial felt, creating a neoprene-to-felt closure that's smooth, quiet, and 100% airtight. The result: up to 10 times more sealing force than conventional pet doors.
The patio frame: DuraFlex patio panels use 14-gauge aluminum with rails that are 75% thicker than most competing patio door frames — a frame five times stronger. Combined with double-pane Low-E tempered glass and triple-locking security (universal lock, foot lock, and security panel), the DuraFlex patio is the most complete patio pet door solution available.
Patio height guide: Regular height fits frames 75"–80¼". Tall height fits frames 92¾"–96". Measure your sliding glass door track height before ordering, and call us at 1-800-255-1279 if you're unsure.

How does the Dura Flex magnet system actually work?
How does the Dura Flex magnet system actually work?
Dura Flex uses rare-earth point magnets spaced along the entire periphery of the flap — not just a few center magnets like conventional pet doors. These magnets seat against floating mating seals in the frame mounted behind industrial felt, creating a neoprene-to-felt closure that's smooth, quiet, and 100% airtight. When wind pushes against the flap, it must overcome all magnets simultaneously — requiring tremendous force. But when your dog approaches nose-first, they push against only one pair of magnets at a time, separating them sequentially as they move through the opening. This is why Dura Flex can withstand 50 mph winds while still being easy for any dog to open.
How is the Dura Flex different from the Armor Flex?
How is the Dura Flex different from the Armor Flex?
Both are premium aluminum pet doors with rare-earth magnetic seals, but they use different flap designs. The Armor Flex uses a segmented rigid flap — interlocking ABS composite segments that provide a very strong, structured seal. The Dura Flex uses a wide-flange vinyl flap with point magnets along the full perimeter — a design optimized specifically for maximum airtightness and draft elimination. The Dura Flex is the better choice if your primary concern is airtight sealing and energy efficiency; the Armor Flex is the better choice if structural rigidity and heavy-duty impact resistance are your priorities.
What's special about the Dura Flex patio frame?
What's special about the Dura Flex patio frame?
The Dura Flex patio frame uses 14-gauge aluminum with frame members that are 75% thicker than most competing patio door frames — resulting in a frame five times stronger. The glass is dual-pane, tempered, and certified Low-E for the best energy efficiency. Each door comes with three security locks: a universal lock that mates to most patio doors, an additional foot lock for extra security, and a heavy-duty security lock-out panel for when you're away. No cutting required — it slides directly into your existing patio door track.
Which patio height do I need — Regular or Tall?
Which patio height do I need — Regular or Tall?
Measure the interior height of your sliding glass door track from bottom to top. Regular height fits frames 75"–80¼". Tall height fits frames 92¾"–96". If your measurement falls outside these ranges, call us at 1-800-255-1279 before ordering.
Does the wall mount include a tunnel?
Does the wall mount include a tunnel?
Yes. Every DuraFlex wall mount model includes a telescoping aluminum tunnel that installs in walls up to 7⅜" thick. For unusually thick walls, additional tunnel extensions can be added to accommodate virtually any wall depth.
How do I choose the right size?
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your dog's shoulder width and back height while standing. The flap should be at least 1–2 inches wider than your dog's shoulders and 1–2 inches taller than their back. Medium (8¼" × 17¼") fits most dogs up to 50 lbs for door/wall (30 lbs for patio); Large (10½" × 21¼") fits most dogs up to 90 lbs; Extra Large (12½" × 25") fits most dogs up to 130 lbs. When in doubt, size up — a slightly larger opening is always better than one your dog has to squeeze through.
