This dog door is the best solution for what we needed (keep cats from going outside while allowing dogs out).

Installation wasn't too hard, though our situation required cutting through a wood panel on one side and brick on the other, so that added to the difficulty (along with needing to reroute a wire that was in the middle of the opening).

Because of the brick, the included tunnel wasn't long enough, so keep that in mind. The tunnel is something like 5.5 inches deep. You can buy an additional tunnel piece if you need to go further than that (buy it at the same time to avoid a long wait with a hole in the wall like I did). They fit together nicely.

The app isn't very good; my wife says she will set it to not allow exit, but the door will still open for the dogs to go outside. Sometimes it will have a "door jamb error" for no apparent reason (even though the door will be fully closed and the unit is seated on the wall properly). You can't fix that with the app close button; you have to go physically push the open button to reset that. The included manual cuts off the door jamb error information half-way through at the end of a page which is a bit funny, though it's fully on the pdf website version.

The new roll up version is great because it was the only option for placing it in this more confined space. The traditional lifting power door wouldn't have fit because it would be too tall, though this one fit perfectly.

The MS-5 transmitters only fit on a thin collar, so we are waiting for rubber covers we got on amazon with large collar attachment fittings on the back. For now, both our dogs are wearing two collars.

Overall, it has been a solid door so far with only minor complaints. Their technical support doesn't answer the phone, which is a drawback, but if you write an email they will get back to you after a day or so.

This is a very unique pet door with more useful features than we imagined. We bought it because we needed a door that would fit under our family room window. The roll up feature makes it compact which was just what we needed. Our dog took to it immediately and she loves it. The door opens fast and is very quiet. App works great. It is secure. The no pinch feature makes it safe and it was as easy to install as the last mechanical flappy door we had. Also, it is as airtight like they advertise. I’m a contractor and I purchased the last version before the rollup door. I saw them at the builders show in Las Vegas. If you love your animals, this is a must have for your fur children. I would have loved to have the roll up door because it increases the location options. I have still to install mine so I may try to exchange it, if they will allow it. I’d be happy to pay the difference. I plan to have it in soon once I’m at that stage of my remodel. If you can afford the door, get it installed professionally. Opening up a wall without an outlet in the way doesn’t mean you won’t have a pipe or an electrical wire as an obstacle. It may cost you more, but it will only be one time and it will look and function the best. An experienced and creative contractor will do the job right. So if you’re struggling it’s because you didn’t hire a professional. Make the right choice until the end so you can give these guys the five star rating they deserve. These guys have the best doors out there and it deserves a proper install. I’m sure if you use a qualified installer you would give them five stars.

Just got the new Roll Up door. Very pleased. This is top quality manufacturing and tech. Dog loves it just as much as I do.

Amazing how quickly and quietly the door opens for my dog. Operation is also very quiet. Easy to install. Works great. Love the auto anti pinch feature. Very happy. I have been a customer of HTP for years and this is clearly their best!
