Most electronic fences shock your dog the same amount regardless of how close they are to the boundary. High Tech Pet's Pulsed Proportional Stimulus automatically increases the intensity of the sound and shock stimulus as your dog approaches the boundary. This means there's no manual adjustment needed, and your dog quickly learns exactly where the boundary is because the feedback is perfectly calibrated to their position. It results in faster training, more reliable containment, and — most importantly — the most humane system available because your dog decides how much is enough to turn back.

Most customers complete installation in under an hour. The system is designed for DIY installation — no professional needed. The Ultra-Wire is engineered for quick above-ground installation using the included yard staples, or it can be buried for a clean look. The TX-2 base station mounts indoors or outdoors (it's fully waterproof), and the included guide walks you through field width adjustment and boundary flag placement.

The X-10 covers up to 30 acres with the standard 500 ft. wire kit. Flip on the Power Boost switch on the TX-2 and you can cover up to 50 acres. For larger properties, simply add additional Ultra-Wire with the BE-500 Boundary Extension Kit ($74.99). The wire is rated for 20 years and is 40% thicker and 3× stronger than standard 18-gauge wire.

Yes — that's one of its key advantages. The RX-10 uses both radio (for the fence) and ultrasonic (for Power Pet doors) signals simultaneously. So if you have an X-10 fence and a Power Pet door, your dog wears one collar for both. No other pet manufacturer offers this.

The X-10 is a perimeter containment system — it creates an invisible boundary around your yard that automatically activates as your dog approaches. The ET-1 Express Trainer is a handheld remote training device for obedience training — you press a button to deliver tones or stimulus to teach commands like Sit, Heel, or Come. Many customers use both: the fence for yard containment when they're not actively supervising, and the trainer for teaching commands and reinforcing behavior.
What happens if the power goes out?
What happens if the power goes out?
The TX-2 base station accepts an optional auto-recharging back-up battery ($44.99). When grid power goes out, it automatically switches to battery power and keeps the fence active. When power is restored, it switches back and automatically recharges the battery — no intervention needed. Without the back-up battery, the fence will go inactive during a power outage.
