The door is great and the instructions were simple, the online color versions are a bit better.
My only issue is the sensitivity for the one and close sensor. It just doesn’t hit the right spot, it’s either not sensitive enough and won’t open the door or an adjustment of 1/32 and the door opens from 10 feet away. I didn’t care about the reviews because of the app but the sensitivity of the sensor for a door that costs over $1000 is a higher issue. Cannot return and stuck with a door that opens when my dog is walking in the vicinity and not close enough based off the sensor but the sensor is crap.

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your pet door. Here at High Tech Pet, we stand behind every product we sell. You are well within the 90 day time frame for us to offer a full refund. Alternately, we have a full 1year warranty as well. So if you are interested, we would be happy to do some trouble shooting with you to see if we can isolate the problem, and there may be a simple fix. If we find that the door is defective, we will happily send you a replacement. I'm sorry you were under the impression that you could not return the item, there is no notes in your account, so I can't see who gave you that information.

We have had or WiFi door for more than 4 years with only a few problems which were resolved by customer service. BUT beware if you see a move in your future, we move to a new house and our new sliding door is 96" tall. I was totally surprised when I was told we could not but just the top half of the door but would need to but a whole new door.

Works good. Purchased in 2023. No issues except when it’s like 2 F outside with Michigan snow the door may struggle to close. It may be I have the sensitivity too high, but I find a little oil in the window track solves the problem. I recommend the backup battery because my power went out in a storm and I feared my pup may be outside. The collar batteries seem to really fast so have backups. All stores sell them. The app has gotten better, but it isn’t the best. It mostly works with home assistant too so I made my own setup. Get this door if you need a powered dog door.

Door & App stopped working. Spoke to Matt and he said so many people are complaining about these issues. After couple of months of installing door & app several times, he stated nothing more he can do. He stated there are problems with the app but no guarantee they will be fixed, therefore nothing they can do. So basically too sad too bad. So, if you want to waste your money & time buy this door otherwise find a reputable company that will not blame others for false advertising or defective product!

We purchased the Power Pet patio door July 2024 and love it! We have three older small dogs - one with Cushing’s Disease that needs to go out frequently. This door has been a life-saver for us - allowing all the dogs to go outside whenever they need to. We originally tried an “old-school” flap style door but the dogs did not like it and had trouble pushing through the flap, so we purchased the Power Pet model. They took no time at all to learn how to use it. We have had no issue with the door. We have the AC Adapter. The App is user-friendly, although we do not set schedules for the door, but we do occasionally monitor “exits” and “entries” while we are out.
Would highly recommend this product!
