I love this door

I love this door. It’s my second one. My first from high tech lasted 6 years. I was hoping for Longer but for all those years it was wonderful. My property is fully fenced and I set up an area for my dog to do her business, as well as a nice dog bed where she can hang out whenever she wants outside. It allows me to leave her on her own and she can go in and out of the house whenever she pleases. She loves it. It also allows her to go out in the middle of the night when I don’t have to wait at the door for her to do her business. Helps me sleep.
The new one is working great. I added a battery back up and Wi-Fi, which allows me to use an app to control the door.
I think the first one could have been repaired but the company does not offer anyone to do the repairs or install the unit.
Thus, I only gave them four stars for lack of on site service.

The app needs work

The app needs work. It will not unlock or lock the sensor at times.or it will reverse my input.

We would love to do some follow up with you, gather some information to help us work through the issue. Sometimes it is as simple as installing an update, or fine tuning schedules. We do maintain constant lines of communication with both iphone and android app developers. This ensures that if a patch needs to be written, we can get that done relatively quickly.

DC power supplies fail frequently

Bought a large wall mount pet door about 1 1/2 years ago. Chose the ac adapter option. Door works great. However, after a year the ac adapter failed. They sent me another one and it worked for 3 months. They are sending another one but they need to change their power supply vendor away from Intertek

Window tint and distance setting.

The placement was in my bedroom back door which leads into the backyard. Unfortunately the neighbors driveway is there and since my house foundation meets new qualifications my house is much higher and they can look up into my bedroom through the door window. You should have offered a dark tinted slide that prevented others from seeing inside. I am also having a hard time setting the distance she has to be from the door before it opens and wish that option was available in the app.

I want to thank you for taking the time to post your feedback on the Power Pet Door. I'm sorry it has fallen short of your expectations. We really to appriciate all feedback that we get. We take it all into consideration, especially when making improvements to our products. I will forward this review to our engineering and design department as well as the app developer to see if a modification can be made in the future to add that feature (adjusting range from app).
As for the panel color, although we don't offer a darker or solid panel currently, clearly this is something we should look into.
For now, if you are able to and interested in modifying the panel yourself, I would be happy to go over how that could be done so that you can have your privacy.
