I had my original door for more than 5 years and we loved it. I depend on it so much that I bought a spare and eventually had to swap them out. I sent the original door back for $150 refurb in Sep 2013. It’s been sitting in my attic ever since. Today after 12 years my door failed and I installed the refurbished unit which works perfectly!
I saw the refurbishment is only $179 which means it’s only increased $30 in 13 YEARS! That’s a sign of a great company!
I’ll be sending my 13 years old unit for refurbishment soon!
You can see in the photo the heat discoloration from 12 years in a hot Alabama attic, but it works great

Because we have 3 dogs that need access to outside at all times of the day, our power pet door has a lot of traffic. This is a great deal if you keep two doors as we do to always have a backup if needed. That way we could send one for refurbishment and continue to provide access for our dogs. The returned door looks and operates as a new door. I highly recommend this service if you have the opportunity.

Turnaround was Quick We keep a extra on hand because we live in Wyoming
and our dogs use the door constantly. We wouldn't want to be without it lots of wildlife and reptiles we don't want in the House, So the power pet is great.
we won't try it out until old one quits probably will be out of warranty before we install it. Thanks Roy
