The customer service person was helpful and confirmed my concern that the circuit board had gone bad. As it was just prior to Thanksgiving, I asked for next day air. They applied a small discount coupon without me asking for it to offset some of the purchase price and shipping costs. The product arrived the next afternoon as anticipated with tracking info provided after the order was placed. I removed the pet door from the wall and disassembled the unit and installed the next circuit board. Im handy with such things and found the instructions provided to be a bit confusing. Pay close attention to how things come apart and put them back the way you found them. The Led lights on the front of the panel were bent slightly. You need to carefully bend them straight up so that the tips of the lights protrude through the small holes in the display panel. On my first attempt, One led was out of position and after I assembled it, one of the push buttons on the panel was not working correctly. I had to disassemble the unit again and get the light in the hole correctly. After putting it back together, the buttons all worked correctly. I powered up the unit... lights were now showing on the display and the dog collar activated the door correctly. I reinstalled the pet door in the wall and retested and reset the inside/outside sensors to have the door activate at the appropriate distance from the door. The box also came with a clear to understand process to reactivate the doors wifi connection and to reconnect the door to their App. BTW- the initial complaint was the door had suddenly starting powering up, coasting down, up, down, up, down nonstop and all the led lights on the display panel were dark. The circuit board failed after about 2-3 years in service with tens of thousands of open/close cycles. I have found their pet door to be a perfect solution for my stubborn Bassett Hound Charlie. I like the power door as we live in cold NH and the door does a good job at keeping the winter cold outside.

After working with HTP customer support to troubleshoot my issue it was determined to be a faulty circuit board. It was shipped out right away and received within 2 days. Followed the instructions to install the new one and all my issues were gone. Love having the power pet door. Have installed them in 3 different homes over the last 20 years. Can't imagine life without one.

Clear, competent technical help. The new circuit board solved the problem

The circuit board worked well, solved my problem but I have one complaint on the instruction manual...and one complaint about the assembly.

The assembly had a ton of hot glue on the wires that connected to the circuit board. It was VERY difficult to remove the board because the glue was such a mess and needed to be removed small piece by piece.

Then on the instruction sheet it clearly has a reminder to make sure the plastic square buttons stay in place....but there is no reminder to align the green and red bulbs into the holes on the front. Because the glue was all over the bottom, it was hard to get the board back in so I had to go at an angle and of course all the bulbs bent without my knowing and I put the entire thing together and when I was ready to recount it on the wall, I realized that only 1 green button went through a hole, all the others were bent.

So I had t start over, reopen the back, fix the bulbs to bend up, and pick out the glue some more and more... and then carefully drop the circuit board straight down, making sure of the bulbs were in their holes. And then reassemble. Ugh.
