I’ve had the XL HiTec Pet Door for many many years and had zero issues. Then one day it just started acting weird. I couldn’t figure out the issue and so I called in and had the pleasure of talking to Matt. He helped me go through different possibilities of the issues and we settled on new wiring. Matt was SO knowledgeable and helpful. He took his time diagnosing the issue with me, explained why it was happening and also how to install it once it arrived.

In today’s culture of automated help services, foreign call center farms and people how answer the phone and hate the jobs, Matt was none of these. I genuinely felt like I was getting top-tier white glove service. He took his time putting me at ease and helping me get what I needed to fix the door for my silver lab Moose. If there’s a lesson here it’s that we need more people like Matt on the phone helping customers…because loyalty doesn’t happen when we buy an item, loyalty doesn’t happen when the product is high quality, loyalty happens when there’s a problem and someone like Matt embodies all of the integrity, expertise and kindness that builds lifetime customers. Give that man a raise!!! Seriously he made my day and my door is back to being flawless!!

The wire broke before I could even install it into the door. I had combine the old one with the new one in order for it to work.

The cable itself is fine, but the replace process was not as easy as the replacement directions say. I hired a handyman for the process but it still took him about an hour since the original cable was glued down with some other cables and it was difficult to take the dried adhesive off and separate the other wires.
