Matt was awesome! He help me out with a replacement part for my dog door. Now understand these doors are build solid! Unfortunately one of my dogs breaks through it like the koolaid man “oh yeah!” Not sure how she hits it at full speed considering how solid (heavy) they are! With that being said Matt has my replacement shipped out under warranty within minutes! Thank you!

After my dog tried to go through the catdoor he broke the flap and the replacement flap was easy to install and fit perfect. This model is the only product you should consider for high wind and winter conditions as it seals perfectly every time

I wanted to add my experience because it sounds very similar to another review here describing the bottom metal strip and plastic connectors failing after a couple of years.

The same thing happened with my door. The two small plastic arms on the bottom link broke, which allows the metal strip at the bottom of the flap to slide out of position. When it shifts, the flap can jam and prevent the door from opening properly.

Recently I came home from work and found my dog stuck outside because the bottom piece had shifted due to the broken arms and the flap would not open from the outside. We live in Yuma, Arizona where temperatures can get extremely high, so that situation was very concerning.

Aside from this issue, the door itself has worked well and the rest of the unit is still in good condition. It just seems unfortunate that such a small part failure requires replacing the entire flap assembly.

I’m hopeful the company might consider making the small replacement parts available, such as the bottom link connectors or repair pieces, rather than requiring customers to purchase the full flap. I’ve also reached out to their support team and hope we can find a solution.

Kind of scam here from HighTechPet. The metal strip at the bottom of the flap lasts about 2 years. The plastic connectors at each end of the bottom piece break/crack and the metal bar comes loose and falls onto your floor or outside on the ground. But HighTechPet wants you to pay $120 to buy the entire flap, rather than provide the bottom segment for far less than $120. So if you buy this door, think of it costing you a rental fee of $5/month perpetually in addition to the $600 purchase price until HighTechPet see fit to do the right thing...
