I purchased the humane contain fencing to provide an area for the hound since many people are very curious about these animals; and, I did not want him to close to the fence already in place. I had never used the fencing before -- and now, after only about one hour within the area I had lined..... my 16 month old male bloodhound is already aware of the flags posted. He just does not need the device. I only use it now when I am away from direct observation when working in my house. I am glad I bought the fence -- it has saved me time; money; and I know my hound is safe outside. Remarkable! Our dog loves the door but the sensors do not work like they should. They advertise that you can set the sensors from 1 foot to 10 feet but I have found that the door will not open if it is set under 6 feet it just wont open. Also I find that either the battery charger does not work or the battery is bad I am not sure which but the battery died and dosnt work anymore after one week of use. I havent tried to get these problems fixed yet so I am not sure about the customer service. All in all I and my dog love the door. Just some quirks to figure out in the design still. I would definatly buy the door again. The replacement collars arrived very shortly afterward. The installation is a breeze. My two daughters, 15 and 9, helped installing the fence (all 1500LFT!), the installation and hook up was easy, anyone can do it. The product works great. The dogs have not been able to get out and visit the neighbors. This product is a very good do-it-yourself alternative to more costly professional installed invisible fences. Thank you. However, the High Teck website does not give any rough opening dimensions for their doors, so I had to grind out exterior brick and interior wood framing in our new house after the door arrived (about an 6-hour process, counting a trip to town for grinder disks). During installation, the door fell over on its face and one of the tiny sensitivity control knobs broke off. High Tech will repair it and ship it back for free if I pay to send the door back to them. There is no way to send the sensitivity control to me to have the door repaired locally. Tech Support says a modification to make the knobs separate from the control is under development. Our cat doesnt seem to mind wearing the electronic collar device, even though the transmitter is a bit bulky. However, the collar does not have any safety elastic to let the cat escape if he gets his collar caught on something. The company claims that the door will only open when the cat is on a direct path towards the door, but we found that it will open when he approaches from the side, and it will stay open if he stays near the door.
